For the first time ever I’m inviting everyone to Poetry on Your Plate! Instead of inviting everyone local to Carrboro, North Carolina, where the event is usually held, I’m extending the invite since the reading is free and on Zoom this year!
I’ve participated with the Town of Carrboro’s celebration of National Poetry Month several times. Their Poetry on Your Plate event is usually at their event space the Century Center, and they typically invite everyone to pick up dinner from a nearby restaurant and enjoy poetry while they eat, and the town provides coffee and dessert. About 3 poets usually read and talk about the stories behind their poems.
This year you can arrange your own dinner plans from anywhere you have an internet connection or phone service. Another thing that’s different is that 9 poets will read! We’ll each have less time to read, but I love it when there are events with so many writers because you get a real variety (or buffet since this is food-centric event!). I’m in great company:
