NOTE TO SUBSCRIBERS: Apologies for the mis-scheduled post last week. In late December I scheduled How to Make Your Posts More Media Rich for early January…but since it was 2014 at the time it retroactively posted to January 2014! Subscribers may have received an initial post with broken links because of this. All is well now. 🙂
At the start of the New Year we are all being pulled in different directions. Some people focus on short-lived resolutions and that attention may be misdirected. Word counts, queries, literary journal submissions are important. What about the long-term performance of your author website?
Writers in different fields have varied goals for users that come to their website. Do you want users to buy books, register for classes, hire you for grant writing, send you a magazine article assignment? Think about the goals of your user and objectively look at your site to see if it satisfies those needs.
With that in mind, check out my new LinkedIn post ‘3 Steps for a DIY Website Audit.’
