My latest article will appear in this Sunday’s Durham News, but you can read it online now. “Art You Can See With Your Eyes Closed” explores an artist’s motivations for creating a tactile color wheel for the visually impaired, and recreating famous works of art for the blind to “see” for themselves.
I was introduced to the artist’s work a few years ago through her son, Living Poetry co-organizer Bart Barker. Check out my original post about touchable art.
Interesting behind-the-pen scoop about the article: The photographs were taken by my boyfriend. This is the first time his photos have appeared in a newspaper!
