Occasionally I chronicle the events along the way that led me to focusing my career exclusively on writing. I have shared my resignation letter, workplace headaches that pushed me toward freelancing, and looked back over my first years of freelance writing.
For more about how it all started, today you can read Working Writers and Bloggers’ interview with me. 🙂
Great interview, Tara! The fact that you talk about what you needed to save before going out on your own was important to the beginning freelancer. I’m getting my ducks in a row (once again) to be able to support myself freelancing in a few years, and it’s a bit different from when I did it back in the 1980s. The one thing that remains the same is to be realistic about it all, and that all important cushion!
Thanks, Dawn! I’m excited for your next freelancing venture. 🙂 Maybe you’ll offer a guest post for the ‘second time around’ experience? Happy New Year, by the way!
