Twisted Vine Wake Forest

Guests of Neck of the Woods

On the second Saturday of every month in Wake Forest, the Twisted Vine wine shop fills with performance art, poetry and music for the Neck of the Woods Performance Series.

Neck of the Woods Performance Series

Scott, Claire and myself

Claire Constantikes, a dancer and founder of Falling Up Dance Company, started the arts event to connect creative people in the Wake Forest area. Claire and her husband Scott provided a beautiful dance performance to start off the evening. The Wake Forest Arts organization helps promote the event, which includes 2 drinks (wine, beer or coffee) for a reasonable $10 door fee.

Poet Sierra Golden

Sierra Golden

I was asked to read at the event last night along with poet Sierra Golden who edits The Raleigh Review. Her vivid poetry reflects a world few people experience: she spends her summers working on a commercial fishing boat in Alaska!

A fantastic Raleigh band, Scarlet Virginia, played as well. If you haven’t had a chance to see them play, check out their Facebook page. They will be playing at the Carrboro Music Festival two weeks from today!
